foodbook.com – mark suckerberg wannabee

I’m writing this blog in hope that someone will steal my idea and I can continue living my life of zero responsibility, total freedom and promiscuity. When you become a billionaire you gain respect, and respect is like jail.

I just finished the first working version of foodbook.com. I finished it in 2 hours with just a few lines of code. Ruby on Rails is awsome !!! Of course it just has the very basic features without the graphics. Convention over configuration baby !!! Foodbook will be the next facebook. If you are reading this post, you are a witness to the immaculate conception of the next website that would revolutionize the world.

For example you have fever and you are too weak to go out or search in the internet or phone book so you just whip out your smart phone, go to the foodbook.com app and enter “craving for chicken sinigang, 1 cup of rice, calamnsi juice, I’m in Queensland motel reclamation area room 5”. Your request will appear in the screens of the restaurants in the area that serve chicken sinigang and they can comment like “P70 within 10 minutes”. The requester will see the rating of each restaurant making the offer, example 4 stars.

Accounts will be linked and authorized via facebook accounts which is common nowadays (ex. Airbnb.com) and also verified using code that is texted to the user’s phone.

The search settings for restaurant will be configurable, for example how often the database of requests will be searched (every 2 minutes, every 5 minutes, etc …). And of course the settings will include the keywords to search for.

Keywords will not be predefined. So restaurants will have to be savvy and smart on which keywords to use in the search settings.

Or a restaurant that is already prestigious and can afford to be picky can set their automatic search settings to screen for requests from accounts that have for example not less than 50 facebook friends. This is to prevent fake orders from pranksters.

This model can only work in developing countries where it is very easy to hire motor bike delivery personnel like the Philippines.

This model will be more usable when it will be common for people from developing countries to own smart phones, especially ones with GPS locator technologies. This way the requestor does not have to enter their current location.

Everything is free. Foodbook will be monetized like facebook using advertisements.
