all you need to know about NTSC or PAL in gopro settings

it really makes me angry when people who are suppose to be so smart do something very stupid and waste my time. the gopro manual says to use NTSC setting if you are in a certain region like america and PAL in other regions like the philippines. but i travel back and forth between philippines and america so which setting should i use? i had to waste my time googling it to learn more. they should have just put in the manual:

--------------------------
if you are just going to show your video to family and friends on a computer or post in youtube or facebook, this setting would not matter so don't worry about this. but if you are going to put this video in DVD or broadcast it to TV, then make sure to use NTSC for ....  regions and PAL for ...  regions. although note that most PAL dvd players can also play NTSC formats so NTSC is the safer format.
---------------------------

there !!! just 1 short paragraph and it will save millions of people a lot of time and effort. it will also help their product because it will cut down the learning time to use their product and give an impression that their product is easy to use.

to make matters worse, it was not easy getting this information. the internet is littered with very long articles about NTSC and PAL, most of them don't contain this information and for those that do, it is buried in a heap of information that is useless to 99% of users.
