i was thinking, if there is such a thing as flu season, and the heineken i mean corona virus is transmitted the same way as a regular flu or cold only that it's more deadly, and millions of people in each country get the regular flu each year but the virus always dies out at some time during the year (thus the word "season'), does that mean even if we do nothing the coronavirus will also eventually die out? (although we should do something nevertheless to minimize the fatalities before the virus takes a vacation during the off season). so i googled to see how many cases there are in the southern hemisphere (.e.g australia, brazil, etc ...) where it's not yet flew season (summer) and the number is zero, 0, nada, zilch.

i thought i've seen everything but today i saw a video "hidden nature of korea". that 94 year old woman who dives for abalone shell for many hours everyday without scuba gear just astounded me.

i went to the frontier settlement to train some new opposition faction recruits. on my way home i was caught in a grueling snow storm. to make matters i worse i encountered a snow beast. i cut it's arm with my mizuno light saber. why do they say storm signal no. 1? nobody knows what the fuck that means. even scientists with phd in meteorology do not know what that means. instead of storm signal no. 1 why not just say, "36 hours storm warning"?. any moron will find it self explanatory. instead of storm signal no. 2 say "24 hours storm signal warning". instead of storm signal no. 3 say "18 hours storm signal warning". instead of storm signal no. 4 say "12 hours storm signal warning". just like during typhoon yolanda people were warned about a storm surge. nobody had a clue what is a storm surge at that time. even i did not know what is a storm surge and i graduated cum laude from UP los banos, one of the best universities in the world. they should have said "tsunami" instead of storm surge. it's wrong but it's effective in warning people. DON'T TRY TO BE CORRECT. TRY TO BE EFFECTIVE !!! storm surge is correct but it's useless and ineffective. or at least say "killer tsunami like storm surge". also include the wind speed and a reference point. example, "typhoon ompong 24 hour warning, 205 kph wind gust (yolanda was 275 kph)". that's what i call a warning.'
by the way a meteorologist is a person who studies meteors and asteroids.
it's stupid to say 19th century. it's smarter to say 1800s.
it's stupid to say knots instead of the mph or kph estimate.
it's stupid to put 12am in the airline ticket. i emailed all the airlines about this 5 years ago and now they are required to put 11:59pm instead of 12am because AM gives you an idea of morning which gives you an idea of sunlight so you go to the airport at noon and miss the flight.

it's stupid to eat lunch in a very expensive house with high end architecture and interior design but bitten by mosquitoes. i would rather eat lunch in a cheap ugly house where i do not get bitten by mosquitoes (i hope my friend who invited me to that lunch does not read this)
it's stupid to write a very long article on preventing mosquitoes from entering a room that are all useless advice like "put screens on your windows". everyone knows that. the most important question is, "CAN MOSQUITOES ENTER THROUGH THE SLIT UNDER THE DOOR?". i cannot find the answer in the internet. almost all doors have space under. i used duct tape to cover the slit and the results were inconclusive.

no one is against angkas (motorcycle uber or grab). congress simply needs to amend the outdated law and angkas simply needs to get a business permit. no congressman in his right mind will be against it. meanwhile, angkas is currently allowed to operate because it's just practical. the current fiasco is orchestrated by me. i created a gofundme and asked all incumbent mayors and governors from all parties to contribute so i can pay the department of transportation to pretend to be idiots and make public statements like angkas is dangerous and should be illegal. this way the incumbents can post in their facebook page that they will fight for the people against this tyrannical government and give them back angkas. the truth is there are no control freak libtards or democrats in the philippines like obama who gets off on big government socialist regulations and despise businesses.. actually there used to be one but he disappeared. his name was father rudy romano. i also asked money from duterte and in return i will launch a fake news social media campaign to make the gullible pro-duterte folks think that the opposition is against angkas. then i also asked money from the opposition and in return i will launch a fake news social media campaign to make the gullible anti-duterte folks think that duterte is against angkas. i'm telling you i have so much money right now i don't know what to do with it.

general pershing is so lucky he died 3 years after the end of world war 2. if he died before americans won world war 2 i would feel sorry for him. historians lack perspective they fail to point these interesting things out. just imagine for example you are dying from old age and you hear in the news your country is being attacked and losing the war and about to be subjugated by an evil enemy. the last moments of your life is filled with sadness and worry thinking your love ones and country will be oppressed. but if you just won the war then the last moments of your life is filled with jubilation and ecstasy. i always think about this whenever i i read about a historical figure.

just realized that if bush sr. beat bill clinton there is no way bush jr would have become president. so losing to clinton gave his family 12 years instead of just 8 years in the white house. that is probably why bush jr. and bill clinton are close friends.

if jose rizal was not executed he would have been 80 years old at the end of the world war 2. i always had this notion rizal's time was so many generations long ago like alexander the great or magellan. but i realized if my grandparents who were around most of my life, played golf with rizal when they were around 15 years old, which means rizal would have been around 70 years old, that would still be a competetive match. which means rizals grand neices and newphews should be in facebook it would be interesting to see their facebook pictures and what are they doing in life.
i wish my history teacher gave me some context for the dates and events - like what was going on in other parts of the world, maybe the french revolution of civil war in the states, etc ... but then i was still too dumb to appreciate history at that time.

i always thought deaths from cassava cake poisoning is just myth and folklore. because my family loves to eat cassava cake. they can't be that stupid. now there is google, i finally learned that the danger of cassava cake is real.

i love people's reasoning for eating cassava cake - it's only poisonous if not cooked well. REALLY? when was the last time you monitored the cooking of the cassava cake you were eating? SO WHY IN THE WORLD ARE YOU GIVING THIS REASON?
i know you can't avoid deaths and accidents but is cassava cake really worth the risk? normal people never cease to amaze me. i mean, this is not like riding an airplane where you really have no choice. i think cassava cake has some pretty good alternatives.
even more mind boggling is i saw this youtube video about a killer whale named tilikum who killed a trainer in canada yet they continued to use him in seaworld so he kills another trainer. working with killer whales is already dangerous enough what dumbass would work with a killer whale that has a history of killing it's trainer?

i used to hate mayweather, not only because of pacquiao but because of his personality. then i learned that mayweather's mom was a drug addict. just imagine yourself growing up coming home from school and finding heroine needles in the front yard. we should cut mayweather some slack. i hope mayweather gets some counselling and i wish him the best. although i know that even if he behaves properly, he will be suffering all his life from his childhood trauma.

what this article fails to point out is that in the philippines, leaders from political dynasties generally govern better than leaders from non political dynasties. i know it's weird and counter intuitive. example, pnoy vs erap. political dynasty is not a problem. businesses employ people and give them livelihood. in the philippines, if a business does not treat employees well, anyone is free to start a business and steal the employees from that evil company which will put that company out of business. in the philippines, elementary and high school education is very affordable to the masses. technical schools are cheap. in the philippines, anyone with education and skills can climb out of poverty. no government and political system can force a person to be educated and start a business. you cannot blame government for it's people's inabilities and incompetence. governments can only give freedoms. filipinos already have that freedom. only communism can help an incompetent lazy uneducated person from the shackles of poverty, but it's not sustainable - pretty soon everyone, including the competents will be in poverty in communism.

school rankings are so stupid. it should just be school classification instead of ranking. but even then, if your major is history or philosophy in the #1 school, then unless you are street smart and can leverage the connections you make or unless you proceed to law school or medicine, then you are better off studying accounting or nursing in a trashy community college. STOP BULLSHITTING YOUR KIDS ABOUT PRESTIGIOUS SCHOOLS - FOCUS ON PASSSING BOARD EXAMS OF USEFUL REAL PROFESSIONS. MBA's from harvard are now working as waiters in new york while my brother and sister who went to an 18 month course in community college nursing are earning 6 digits salary. if you don't do as a say you will regret the day your daughter will ask you to pay $60k a semester to study fashion design in yale.
note my alma matter is ranked #2 but i'm still writing this for the sake of intellectual humility.

10 things we need to know? not even close !!! for me, here are the important thing we need to know -
can buildings be compromised after an earthquake even if they look ok externally? is there a way to evaluate? how reliable are these evaluations or inspections and the cost and how long the process takes. also are there building codes and construction requirements that addresses earthquakes? are violations to these building codes rampant? non existent? we also would like a map of the known faults and history of it's activity.

i was salutotorian in Cebu International School, i was cum laude in University of the Philippines, i was waitlisted in ateneo, yet one time i missed a flight by making the 12am is noon time mistake. am means morning which made me think "daylight". so i went to the airport noon time for my 12am flight from san francisco to cebu. goodbye $759. nowadays the airlines put 11:59 pm instead of 12am to avoid this confusing morons like me.
