aha. i just figured out an explanation why someone answered the phone at registry of deeds. i think when the phone rang everyone in the office was surprised that someone would be naive enough to call a government office and expect to be served. the phone was probably thick with dust and hasn't rang for years. so when it rang they probably were looking at each other in amazement and just out of curiosity, someone answered the phone. when i asked for the person i wanted to talk to they just left me hanging. they were probably laughing at me saying "who does he think he is? president duterte? no way jose. you come here, drive through traffic and wait in line for 3 hours just like everyone else.".
(below is the original post. the point i'm trying to make is that you should not be shock someone as crazy as trump would win. because republicans may be evil but they advocate for small government. democrat's are kind hearted but their policies tend to create bigger government. americans are very afraid of socialistic big government. and the reason why they are afraid is the point i'm making here in this facebook post. of course my speculation here is just humor and of course there are many civil servants who work hard and do a marvelous job, but even with the best people working in government they won't be as good as folks with average competence working in a private business simply because of human nature. no matter how well you do if your competition comes up with a tastier and cheaper burger, start updating your resume because you will soon be job hunting.

i just experienced a miracle today. a few weeks ago i was following up on a property title at the registry of deeds. i was surprised they gave me a phone number i can call to follow up. i was confused because calling the phone is more convenient and efficient than having to physically go to their office to follow up. but registry of deeds is a government institution. they have no incentive or motivation to make my life easier. today i tried calling the number. i was sure the number would be a dead line. but to my amazement the phone actually rang. i started to get excited. but still felt deep inside no one will answer the phone. why would they? it's not like this is mcdonalds where if i'm not content with their customer service i can just go next door to burger king. after a few rings i was blown away when someone actually answered the phone. i thought i was dreaming. i asked for the person i'm suppose and they told me to hold and wait. i said thank you i will wait. but i was thinking. you idiot !!! you work for the government. why would you waste your time and energy getting the person i'm asking for? if that was me i would just hang up and go to my desk to browse facebook and everything will be fine. i waited for a few minutes until the line got cut. when i heard the dial tone i immediately felt i was back to reality. then i called the number again a few times and no one answered the phone. i felt normal again. i wasn't in a state of confusion anymore. the people working in registry of deeds are smart after all.

wow i'm impressed. the website now shows "Earliest available appointment: No available date".
so i don't have to waste time and effort browsing each day only to find out all appointments are full. looks like they are also implementing color coding. maybe they saw my facebook rant.
but i still feel the dfa is very incompetent because i still can't get an appointment in cebu and i have to travel to other islands to get my passport.

i am not complaining here. i'm not saying the government sucks. i'm actually very content and happy with the government (both philippines and US). i just wanna show why someone as disgusting as trump could win. trump is more right wing. one of his biggest enemies are left wing or socialists. left wing are suppose to be the good guys - policies that help the poor. the problem is it results in everyone becoming poor. i won't give all the reasons here just google "why socialism is bad" to know more. even a leftist who is the greatest intellectual in the world oppose state socialism. therefore many people vote for trump even if he keeps making crazy mistakes because they are afraid of socialism. and for good reasons. the biggest reason is that socialists want the government to control or handle everything even if government is naturally inefficient and incompetent. that is because unlike private businesses, government has no competition so there is not much incentive to work hard. talent and innovation will be suppressed. in business, even if you do everything right, if your competition comes up with a better and cheaper product, you are screwed.
my recent experience is a good example. i'm not saying passport renewal should be privatized. that would be stupid for security reasons. but you can extrapolate my experience by imagining a society where the government handles almost all the services (socialism).
i just went to this passport renewal appointment system website (philippines). there is a monthly calendar and i click on a day and see all slots are full, i click on another day and all slots are also full. i end up clicking all the days of the month just to find out all slots are full. then i go to the next month and so on and so forth...... WHY CAN'T THEY JUST BLOCK OUT OR GREY OUT ALL THE DAYS THAT ARE ALREADY FULL? this is very easy to do. and now i find out there are no available appointments in cebu. i tried to call the number and surprise surprise the phone won't even ring. such a disgrace. so i post my problem in facebook and some recommended i try different provinces. again, the advice on trying out other provinces should be displayed on their website so users don't have to go around asking people what to do. i know things are improving a lot in government and i'm sure everyone is doing their best, but c'mon. are you kidding me?
what confuses me is i know i'm not a smart person. i did not pass the entrance exam to UP high school and it was only through connections that i got in. i did not pass the entrance exam to UP diliman and Ateneo. and it was only through connections i got in to UP los banos. i'm sure the head of the DFA is a thousand times smarter and more educated than me. so it confuses to think that if i was the head of DFA, there is NO WAY IN HELL I WILL LET THIS STUPIDITY HAPPEN UNDER MY WATCH.
at least give an explanation. i'm a very understanding person. if they say it will take a year to renew a passport because of budget problems or security concerns due to the threat of terrorism, then i will understand. display the explanation on the doors, the walls and on the websites.
this is also a good example of a good criticism on the du30 adminstartion. but first you have to compare it with previous administrations. i lived in america during the past administrations so i can't make a comparision. but the du30 supporters could easily say this is a sign du30 is doing a great job because this means there is an increase in consumer and economic confidence causing a sharp uptick in filipinos traveling causing a sudden increase in passport renewals and overwhelming the capacity of the DFA. hahahaha. politics is so much fun.
i'm a reasonable guy i don't complain easily i even lambasted folks who criticized pnoy for saying the traffic was because of the economic boom. pnoy was right and i understand it takes time to develop the infrastructure to address the traffic congestion. but not being able to renew my passport in cebu is unacceptable. i like du30 so i'm trying my best to find a good reason to give the du30 admin a pass on this but i just can't find one.

i just tried my first ever online purchase in the philippines and it worked like a charm. i bought an inflatable travel neck pillow in sulit.com.ph for P160 ($4) which already includes shipping and it arrived in a week. i paid through western union. what gave me the confidence to send money to a stranger? well, first of all it's just $4, but also the seller rating in sulit is already so high such that no dumbass would ruin it for a measly $4. seller rating is so valuable it's almost like you have a stall in divisoria or quiapo except you don't have to suffer the heat and pollution and the foot traffic is online buyers from all over the philippines.
that's the spirit of free enterprise capitalism !!!
meanwhile it's been 11 months and my car has not been registered. they mistyped the MV file number and i have to go through all kinds of hoops to have it corrected. i had to spend the whole day to go to their main office in another city to file an RSU (request for system update). and 11 months later they said the system hasn't been updated yet. that's a big load of BULLSHIT !!! SUPER SUPER INEFFICIENCY !!! SUPER SUPER INCOMPETENCE !!! TYPICAL BIG GOVERNMENT !!! the result of absence of competition. zero incentive to improve.

protective clothing from snakes and black widow spiders while harvesting lumber for the fire door that the democrat nazis are requiring. the incompetence of democrat nazis is driving me insane. they require a mountain of useless documentation before giving a nursing home license - menu of dishes we will serve, schedule of activities, admission policies, etc ... typical of big government red tape bureaucrat nazis. they don't even provide a sample of these documents so it will make it easier and faster to fill them out. but then during the orientation they said an application typically goes BACK AND FORTH between the reviewer and applicant because of mistakes of documentation they don't approve of. what's more they said if there are too many corrections the application is canceled, you don't get a refund, and you will have to start the process all over again. WHAT THE FUCK? it will take only 30 minutes for anyone in their office to scan the sample or already approved documents and post them online in their website. oh i forgot the democrats don't know how to get a website working (until now the obamacare website still has problems). so i google to see if there are any sample documents available online and it turned out there are lots of websites selling sample documents. if you buy a sample for each requirement you will end up paying around $500. just for a bunch of paper that don't really have any proprietary value. this is one of the websites - http://www.ramearsconsulting.com/WebProductCCLappCompo11_16_13.pdf
i bet you these nazis are getting a cut on the sales of these documents. typical of big government assholes. and i'm sure instead of focusing their effort on helping the businesses succeed they focus their energy using their union mafia mob like muscles to delete them and crack down on anyone who posts these documents online for free.
i need to document how my nursing home staff will provide fun activities for the retiree residents. i'm tempted to put - take them bungy jumping. hahahaha. the government will probably ban me for life just like my facebook friends after seeing my crazy posts in facebook.

democrats are addicted to over regulation that's why businesses cannot flourish. a good example is detroit and chicago which has become a cesspool of dog shit. contrast that with republican controlled places who tend to leave their citizens alone. a good example is texas which has a vibrant economy because government does not stand in the way of businesses from flourishing
i have an uncle (abelardo pages) who lost tens of thousands on a failed nursing home business because of over regulation. guessed what? he is a hardcore democrat. AMAZING !!!

i was registering my car in pasig. they told me my car has a "double file" because of a data entry error of the plate number of years ago. they told me to go to the records department to retrieve a record. took me 2 hours. when i gave the guy the record he examines it and tells me there was another data entry error but this time it was the VIN number. they said it will take 3 weeks to correct it. they told me to come back after 3 weeks and ask for "Bong".
i'm a software engineer specializing in database systems - 15 years experience in silicon valley. and i know it takes 3 weeks to correct a data entry error. it's the same when you update your personal info in facebook - the process will also take 3 weeks..
imagine if this was a private business registering your car will only take an hour of your time.
