apple hates old people

the iphone is the greatest consumer product ever but i don't understand why it does not have a flashlight icon in the main screen. the flashlight is one of the more useful features and could even be needed in an emergency like if there is a brownout and someone happens to be in an urgent need to take their meds..

all iphone users, even old folks can intuitively bring up any app or feature if it has an icon that looks obvious but not everyone knows how to access the control center where the flashlight button is HIDDEN. i know you can install a flashlight icon but some people won't bother doing this and it takes time.
