this toilet always had a slow flush but this time the problem became severe. i removed the toilet bowl and when i dumped a bucket of water into the drain the water never even reached the rim it just went straight down the drain which means the drain is perfect and the problem is in the toilet bowl. i inserted a snake and can hear something bouncing off the walls in the trapway.
turns out a future steph curry child prodigy shot a golf ball into the toilet. lesson #1: you can never remove a golf ball from the toilet trapway with a snake. even if the snake comes out the other end the golf ball won't come out. i guess the toilet trapway has a cavity where the golf ball can hide. but if you turn the toilet upside down, the golf ball will immediately roll out.
i seated the toilet bowl to do a trial flush before i seal everything and the flush was beautifully strong. but after i sealed everything the flush was slow you need to flush 3 times to get a complete flush. the only explanation is there is no air vent. i removed the p-trap of the sink hoping it is connected to the toilet drain and it can provide an air vent so i can just mcgyver a connection into the kesame that will serve as the air vent. but it did not fix the slow flush. i re-installed the p-trap but this time i wrapped a bike interior cut out around one of the worn out gaskets to fix a small leak.
i created an air vent by inserting a house into the hole where the bolt is suppose to go. i cut the end diagonally to make sure the hose entrance never gets blocked in case it gets pushed down the floor. i sealed the gap with vulcaseal and did some tests. the flush is now super strong and i can hear vacuum activity coming out of the hose. if i clog the hose, the flush becomes anemic again. PROJECT COMPLETE !!!
