why trump/brexit/du30 won

leftists will tell you that the trump/brexit/du30 phenomenon is a reaction to the neoliberal policies in the past decades that lead to massive inequality and discontent. i agree with them but i think there are also other reasons.

politics is an agenda guessing game. and now i think the democrats are making a really bad guess in the agenda guessing game by focusing on the russian collusion.

the main reason why brexit won is because british people were hoping that a brexit victory lead to naked protests - Brexit: The Naked Truth (Dr Victoria Bateman, Cambridge, 2019. another reason why brexit won is because british people were afraid that what the evil bankers and corrupt politicans of the EU did to greece might also be done to them. this is because  in the EU system, people are too tied up or dependent on the big social democratic government so when evil bankers and corrupt politicians go haywire everyone is screwed. this is why a small libertarian government is safer. austerity cutting of government pensions won't be a problem if people were allowed to take more control of their money through low taxes so they can invest it in gold, bonds or land where they can plant crops. of course the downside is the incompetents will suffer poverty but at least it's just a small portion of the population and small government does not mean zero welfare anyway. in big government, corruption can screw almost everyone except the perpetrators - https://ian-crystal.blogspot.com/2019/04/dont-greece-the-hand.html

i understand what my opposition facebook friends are crying about – government is not that simple. it’s much more complicated than what duterte and trump was campaigning for. but majority of voters are simple minded – if you live in a house, you don’t want anyone climbing your fence and going in your house (border security). you want your daughter to be able to safely walk around the neighborhood in the middle of the night (peace and order – drug epidemic).

if suspect that the supposedly embarrassing indecent behavior of trump and duterte are intentional and orchestrated. they are like decoys or distractions for the opposition to continue to attack the person, not the agenda. this way, the opposition will never focus on the agenda and the people will continue to secretly be turned off by the “living in a bubble” smugness of the opposition. i notice those who live in a bubble are not noticing that there is such a thing as and indecent subworld  - https://ian-crystal.blogspot.com/2017/12/decent-and-indecent-sub-worlds.html

it's amazing that trump has been saying the same nasty things since 30 years ago. his agenda and demeanor hasn't really changed including his combative personality and his disdain for CNN and the media. these are clips from 30 years ago: trump has always been like your friend who is a disgusting street thug or wise guy who pisses you off sometimes because he calls your daughter fat. obama and the democrats are like your sweet intellectual and caring grandmother who is a professor of history. but if you want someone to accompany you to a dangerous slum to buy a car, you would rather bring your disgusting friend to protect you and haggle or negotiate for you. similarly some people would vote for trump even if they don't like him because we live in a dangerous world and we are getting ripped off by our so called allies and trading partners. they are not aware that it's really the neoliberal policies that are the root of their discontent.

what confuses me is trump is the only one saying these things yet no one really criticizes him for it. the trade war is one of the most important issues because it affects jobs and putting food on our table. it's second only to climate change. yet i never hear the media attack trump on this issue. instead they attack trump on issues that are just cosmetics. my take on this issue is that it's too complicated for anyone to know the right thing to do. however, it does give an impression that trump cares about jobs and the economy while the democrats only care about not offending anyone.

it's amazing trump became president yet he can't even move in to a neighborhood without people protesting. this is a very surreal video - Palm Beach: Where the Gilded Age never ended. in 1986 when trump tried to buy mar-a-lago in palm beach he was not welcome buy the ultra rich palm beach residents, just like during the elections when he was opposed by the establishment republicans. trump was the first to create a club that allowed jews and african americans, as long as they paid their monthly dues and fees. yet he is known for being a bigot. he also kept getting into fights with the other residents. just like nowadays where he is always fighting with the media and other celebrities. trump's facade patriotism also got him into a fight with the residents in palm beach over the height of his flag pole, just like today where he is in a fight with the democrats to build the border wall. it's also a surreal coincidence that mar-a-lago was originally meant to be a summer presidential white house and trump bought it in 1986, 30 years before trump became president.

meanwhile in the philippines, here is a microcosm of why giant instutions like CNN, democrat/republican parties, mar roxas, binay, got their butts whooped by outsiders and super underdogs:

SON OF A WHORE = putang ina = reason why the mainstream media is losing credibility. institutions like CNN are suppose to be the epitome of reliability, fairness, prestige, etc ...  i was soooo SHOCKED AND DUMBFOUNDED when they reported that du30 called obama the son of a whore. almost all filipinos know that when you say putang ina you don't really mean son of a whore it's more like "SHIT" or "DAMN". there is no reason or justification for the media's STUPIDITY and obvious BIAS.  even if you don't speak tagalog, before you report you are suppose to do what journalists do best: REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESEARCH.

trump made a lot of stupid racist comments that is suppose to be a turn off, but it's just cosmetics. the issues on trade deficit is more important, which the democrats and republicans never talked about. trump's republican and democrat opponents should have at least tried to counter his rhetoric on national debt and trade deficit - https://www.oppenheimerfunds.com/advisors/article/how-i-learned-to-stop-worrying-and-understand-us-debt most americans don't even understand what it means when china devalues it's currency, they just know it's far more important than the racist comments. so when there was no counter from hillary about china kicking our butts because of currency devaluation, they thought maybe hillary does not care about getting our butts kicked.

(12/02/16 update: obama's spokesman just said "DEREGULATION is a nice thing to say during an election but it's much more complicated than that". i agree !!! however, it's a real issue that is dear to the hearts of millions of americans. the democrats forgot an election is a likability contest, not a contest on who is more correct)

the themes or fashions for these elections are: humility, brutal honesty, and necessary GREED. it's just human nature. people are sick and tired of bullshit and pretentious idealistic liberal ideals and policies that don't work anymore. THERE ARE NO SHORTCUTS AND MAGIC FORMULA TO ECONOMIC PROSPERITY. it only worked before because america and britain won world war 2 and had 50 years of hegemony where the entire planet bought everything from america and UK like toothpastes and jeans but now technology has come to a point where other countries can make their own toothpaste, etc ... and the internet and freedom of information now makes it impossible for james bond to manipulate politics in other countries so the US and UK can get access to cheap natural resources and labor  https://ian-crystal.blogspot.com/2017/02/why-i-dont-think-america-can-be-great.html

here's a video from chris mathews who is a democrat.  he hits the bullseye on the agendas that people really care about while rachel maddow, the queen of media for the democrats double down on identity politics. hillary and liberal's mistake was trying to be politically correct and cool - they didn't know these fashionable values only work during good economic times. but during tough economic times they just make people angry. adding insult to injury, hillary's cheerleaders were the ultra rich beyonces, madonnas and lady gagas with private jets and garages full of luxury cars chanting america is still great. hillary campained on what is ideal and cool. trump campaigned on what is real and ugly. illegal immigration is sharing. sharing america to the rest of the world. humans don't want to share when they are having a tough time. it's as simple as that.

here is another reason why trump won. almost everyone thinks anne coulter is a lunatic including me. yet 3 very prestigious democrats can't even answer her very simple question, for fear of political incorrectness backlash. "should america's immigration policy benefit those that are already here instead of the illegal immigrants?".  yet it's a question that is dear to the hearts of every struggling american ----- Real Time with Bill Maher: Ann Coulter on Immigration (HBO)

here's an analysis from bill o' reilly, a moderate conservative: The O'Reilly Factor': Bill O'Reilly's Talking Points 11/9

here's a more emotional analysis of the election:  Judge Jeanine: This wasn't an election, it was a revolution

1/13/19 fb post:

top republicans are so stupid this is why we should vote democrat. they are condemning trump for withdrawing troops from syria after getting advice from rand paul during a round of golf. some say the the kurds will be massacred if we withdraw. i think there will be enough time for out forces in iraq to come to their aid if anyone tries to attack them. they said trump should listen to the top experts in his party who really know what's going on in the world instead of a congressman who is not an expert on foreign affairs. i agree !!! trump should listen to the top republican foreign affairs experts who thought it was a good idea to go to war in iraq
