conscience

when bernie sanders say 87 million americans have no insurance or are under-insured, the question is how many of them are actually suffering. insurance is not a normal instinct to common people so a healthy idiot will prioritize his/her right to own guns and defend the rights of babies in the womb than his own health insurance. a common person has the conscience to do whatever it takes to take down hitler to protect other people because it is a normal instinct but don't have the conscience to worry about other people not having health insurance. if a person dies from cancer because of no insurance, the common low intellect will FEEL it's the cancer's fault, not someone like hitler or replublicans blocking medicare-for-all. it takes an especially moral or evolved person like the leftists to have that kind of conscience. especially that a common person is aware that doctors, medical equipment and medicines don't just magically appear out of nowhere. a normal intellect thinks basic human rights should not be expensive and anything expensive has to be earned. for the right to vote, ballot boxes may cost money but it's easily covered by the personal income taxes. same with the right to not get raped - there are 40 thousand police officers in new york but there are also 8 million people so to pay for the annual salary of $60,000 for each police officer each person only has to pay $300 a year in taxes. but it's not easy for a common intellect to do the math and figure out that it should be easy for the government to pay for his/her bypass heart surgery of $40,000 even if he/she is only paying $2,000 a year on taxes. for the left's message on medicare-for-all to be more effective, the left should include and emphasize the basic math to show people the government can easily afford it. maybe post it in a web page and simplify it for an average person to understand then promote this web page. note it should not be a website. it has to be a single, concise and simple web page.

i become sad if my dog gets sick but i don't care about the billions of pigs getting slaughtered even if pigs are smarter than dogs and closer to being human (The Power of Plant-Based Eating | Dr. Joanne Kong). its just how my conscience is wired and there is nothing i can do to change it.

when chomsky said he was the only one in the summer camp who became sad after an atomic bomb was dropped in japan, it was a bad example because its like he was saying morality is not absolute or it's relative to your conscience. on the other hand if chomsky said he jumped for joy after the bombing and he does not feel sad for the victims of US atrocities but he is an activist simply because its the right thing to do, it will make people think that maybe we should join chomsky. it's like if you hate the taste of beef and want to ban beef because it's cruel to cows, then maybe you are just a jackass who wants to impose his way of life on other people. but if you love beef stake then you will have more credibility in your advocacy to ban beef.

i notice that for normal people, the motivation for morality is purely based on instinct or conscience. example is a starving mother who would rather give that last piece of bread to her starving child. that's just instinct. it's still possible for that same heroic mother to be a racist white nationalist. but leftists would cherry pick the heroic act of the mother to justify putting power in the hands of the mother in a true democracy. yikes !!! that would be scary because i have dark skin and chomsky did say america is a very racist country.

it is irrelevant or useless to say osama bin laden is evil. he is simply our enemy. even if he is good and we are evil i would still shoot him in the head because he is a threat to my way of life. it's the same argument of nazis but we all have conscience as a safety switch mechanism and the nazis just had a much thicker conscience fuse. theirs was 30 amps mine is only 5 amps so more cruelty current can pass through a nazi's brain before it gets tripped and activate a schindler's list compulsion.

example, it's our fault that iran hates us. but now that iran is our enemy, i won't be opposed to any bombing on iran. but hitler style genocide of course i will be opposed to. i know it's despicable for me to say these things but almost everyone i know feel the same way. so this is more of an educational information for people living in an intellectual bubble. i am not ranting to say what is right. i am only ranting to say what really is going on. if iran had nukes, of course they would only be used for self defense because of MAD (mutually assured destruction). i just don't trust iran to be stable or competent enough to prevent nukes from getting in the hands of terrorists. but leftists prefer that iran have nukes saying it would make the region more stable. another sign that leftists really have a poor instinct for self preservation.

conscience allows us to go against our immoral feelings to do what is right. however it's limited. example, it may be easy for a huge majority of the world's population to go against their racist feelings towards middle eastern people and answer in a survey questionnaire that israel should withdraw from gaza and the west bank. or answer in the questionnaire that america is the most dangerous country in the world. however, it would still be difficult to actually take concrete action to help stop these atrocities like boycott israel or america's products.

they would even prefer to migrate to america and join the empire if it secures their family a better future. answers to these survey questions don't have binary values. saying america is dangerous can range from "i would sacrifice my life to take down the US empire just like bringing down hitler in WW2" to "i would tell my friends america is dangerous but i will still support america by buying it's products". they may answer yes israel should withdraw from the occupied territories but shrug their shoulders when israel bombs the palestinians. it's like a student answering a in a survey question that they believe copying someone else's homework is wrong. that does not mean the student won't copy someone else's homework.

the majority of people in israel support the 2 state solution yet the parties that advocates for it win only very few seats in the knesset (parliament). so while chomsky goes around telling people the results of these surveys, the evil powerful elites are just laughing at him. leftists are not aware that what matters is the reaction, not poll results. the overwhelming majority of filipinos voted for a charismatic but uneducated president name erap estrada. poor people loved erap. but when the educated middle class minority angrily stormed the presidential palace (malacanang) and unlawfully booted erap out of office, the poor majority just went, "oops. sorry". instead being angry that their votes were invalidated, the poor majority actually felt they were the ones who made a mistake.

also, the words used in the questionnaires could have different meanings. you could answer yes america is the most dangerous country in the world. but keep in mind that technically and statistically, mosquitoes are also the most dangerous animals in the world. also, just because 80% believe america and israel are the most dangerous countries, does not mean it's true. chomsky just tweeted that 3/4 of americans believe in religious miracles. that's astonishing !!! a better poll question is, "which country do you prefer to be the most dangerous country in the world?".

it also does not disturb a normal person's conscience if an empire kills people who are already trying to kill each other. the native americans were already killing each other before white people arrived. white people just happened to be better at it. it's also hard to think of america as pure evil or bully because 850 thousand americans died killing each other in a civil war. shias and sunnis are killing each other. i think the iraq war would have met more opposition if the iraqis were a peace loving nation. people don't really care that much about israel atrocities towards the palestinians because they know the palestinians and arab countries attacked first in 1948 and attacked again in 1967. the hateful rhetoric of palestinians towards israel would cause a normal person with common sense to look the other way when israel commits atrocities.
