trump's lucky streak

the stormy daniels saga went on for too long. CNN made avenati their hero and now avenati is being charged with domestic violence. crazy !!! especially with CNN championing the #metoo movement. trump's lucky streak just won't stop.

as if that's not enough, the one thing that CNN criticizes trump on without turning off common sense people is trump's withdrawal from the paris climate accords. but now paris, of all places, is in flames with people rioting in the streets because of the bad economic effects of paris climate accord. this is just mind blowing !!! before they ratified the accord, they should have educated the public to expect an economic setback. they should have requested people to make short term sacrifices to avoid long term environmental catastrophe.

however, i think the only thing that could bring trump's lucky streak to a screeching halt is  the result of the mueller investigation. although i won't be surprised if trump is vindicated again on that one. it is now proven that trump lied about his continued business dealings with russia even if he was already nominated as the republican president. any common sense person won't think it's a big deal because at that time, everyone thought trump had no chance. everyone in the media were ridiculing trump saying he had no chance so basically trump was just acting according to the predictions of cnn and msnbc. trump was probably thinking that if he is going to lose, might as well take advantage of his 15 minutes of potential world power to grow his business.

3/26/19 update: (joke) CNN legal analysts are saying trump could have stopped the mueller investigation if he wanted to. now the democrats are accusing trump of intentionally trying to embarrass the democrats because he let it play out. if trump stopped the investigations at least democrats would always have something to believe that they never lost the 2016 elections or that trump is an illegitimate president. trump is so mean.

and of course the economy. if the economy is on a downturn just before the 2020 election, trump is screwed. actually another thing that CNN can criticize trump on without turning off common sense voters is the trade tariffs and it's dangers. but i guess this would just alienate the bernie sanders' nationalist wing of the democrats who would benefit from tariffs. also trump's persistence on the very dangerous trade tariffs issue just shows trump is more concerned with bringing back jobs than winning an election. the economy was chugging along until trump doubled down on his tariff stance. trump could have just easily rode the economy to victory on election day but instead he chose to risk it all for the sake of bringing back jobs. personally, i believe it's a wrong move. i'm not an expert economist but many expert economists who are trump supporters says it's a bad idea (that's an example of credibility - you don't get credibility if you are an ideologue or CNN who just condemns everything that trump does. you earn credibility only when you praise his achievements and condemn his failures).

i also heard some analysts (e.g. jim cramer of cnbc) say that trump's trade war is not just about bringing back jobs to america but trump's effort to limit or stop china's growing global influence which could endanger america and the world in the future. this might have some truth to it considering china's encroachment in philippine territory in the spratleys. i won't be surprised if we find out trump is willing to plunge our economy into a recession and lose 2020 election if that's what it takes to stop china. there is no doubt that an escalation of the current trade skirmish will hurt china more than it hurts us. it will hurt us a little but enough for trump to lose in 2020.
