growing up in the philippines, whenever the delinquent youths would suddenly sleep early, stop drinking and smoking, go jogging every morning, do push-ups, and study math, i knew the US navy recruiter was coming to town. being accepted to the US navy was even better than winning the lottery.

morality is a double edge sword. i fear living in a society where there are no leftists, but i equally fear living in a society where the leaders are leftists. from a purely moral standpoint, leftists are always right and they always speak the truth and facts. i thank the leftists for making agrarian reform in the philippines possible. it's not perfect and 10% of the land has not yet been distributed but it has helped many filipino farmers climb out of poverty. i hope this does not spark a wave of 3rd world nationalism and make the mob boss (US) angry. luckily the united fruit company does not operate in the philippines (joke). leftists have also stemmed the tide of duterte's extra judicial killings and forced the cops to use a more just and humane apprehension procedure - https://www.rappler.com/newsbreak/iq/194687-new-oplan-tokhang-guidelines-pnp-war-drugs

it's a blessing in disguise that during the filipino-american war the americans debuted it's surveillance techniques and propaganda to crush the leftists in the philippines. because if philippines had leftist leaders who cured our ignorance, we would have hostaged 52 americans during the EDSA revolution that toppled the marcos regime and our country right now would be undergoing much more suffering from trade embargos and sanctions. but there are always different perspectives and the philippines would have a high leftist badge of honor we seized american hostages. it's like war heroes we honor and praise even if they suffered and paid the ultimate sacrifice. filipinos enjoy so much freedom right now compared to iran where gay people can be thrown in jail just for having sex.

even during marcos we were not under a totalitarian state because there was no such thing as anti-filipino. people will collapse laughing in the streets of manila if they heard the term anti-filipino (https://www.alternet.org/2016/09/chomsky-alleging-anti-americanism-very-natural-technique-social-control/). many filipinos are enjoying the good life because they joined the US military, just like immoral prostitutes who enjoy economic freedom and comforts because they sold their soul and chose freedom to buy louis vuitton bags over morality and leftist badges of honor. even worse because filipinos are basically prostituting themselves to their exploiters. but that's just the leftist point of view. i don't subscribe to that point of view, not because i'm a fan of sting ( Sting - Russians) but because i'm immoral. i would rather have a fun prosperous life than be honored and suffering. i am no hero like the palestinians and iranians.

a leftist's head will explode when they learn the children of marcos and ninoy aquino are currently good friends. marcos murdered ninoy for crying out loud !!! now they are ruling the country in peace and harmony. the son of ninoy became president and the son of marcos is currently the #1 senator. from the leftist point of view, that's disgusting because the philippines should be like syria right now so the leftists can sing praises of admiration for the filipinos and demonize the US for causing all the suffering and destruction. instead, not an ounce of blood was spilled during the EDSA revolution that toppled the a 20 year dictatorship. that's just insane. but maybe because marcos knew he was dying so he probably staged the revolution to make sure power remains in the hands of his friends who will ensure his family is protected and hist family continues to prosper. surprise surpise his close friend ramos became president, enrile became senate president. and his wife imelda became governor in their bailiwick. the irony is we still celebrate the EDSA revolution even if the children of marcos are now the top senators.

if you study history carefully, iran never did anything really bad to america. none of the 52 hostages died and besides, it pales in comparison to the numerous evil things america did to iran. but there is no reason why iranians can't be like the filipinos who bowed down to america like a mafia boss despite past atrocities. it's only a bad decision if the mafia boss continues to rape you even if you already bow down. but america has stopped raping the philippines long time ago. nowadays it's more molestation or inappropriate touching than brutal rape. america stopped raping japan even if japan committed a mortal sin to the mafia boss in pearl harbor.

i also believe america's support of the marcos dictatorship was a necessary evil to stem the tide of communism in the world. it's a vicious world that we live in. you gotta weigh the pros and cons of freedom and morality. you gotta be more practical. sadly, that's just how the world rolls. if you choose to be idealistic like iran, you might pay the price.

however, maybe iran is making the right choice because i think they are making more money with their regional influence compared to the economic losses from the US sanctions. it's just a hunch. they are not like ashkenazi jews of israel who can develop wildly profitable products out of nothing to increase their GDP. iranians are relatively smart and competent compared to most countries but it's not always a good thing. like a person who is smarter, more handsome and richer than me but more miserable because he is always losing a congressional race. filipinos are lucky to be in a certain morality sweet spot (https://ian-crystal.blogspot.com/2019/06/inborn-aptitudes-and-standards.html).

most filipinos like me would always choose practicality over pure morality. morality is a useless badge of honor. philippines is a deeply devoted catholic country yet our current president (duterte) won an overwhelming 80% of the votes even if he called pope francis "a son of a whore" just for causing a traffic jam when the pope visited manila. this was before the election. he gained support by proudly advertising his past human right abuses and atrocities. in fact his biggest enemy is not the opposition but the UN human rights council. the philippines is a leftist's worst nightmare. we filipinos bow down to a master as long as the master reciprocates with benevolence. we prostitutes fought fiercely and gave up our lives only when the japanese soldiers were committing atrocities that were too much for us to stomach. also we knew the war was practical and winnable because the US was our ally. unlike the more moral and honorable palestinians who continue to fight an unwinnable and self destructive war.

filipinos can't exactly develop smart phones and build cars. luckily we are willing to be the cheap labor force of the world. we are always happy to go to other countries and work as laborers and servants. in fact it is a dream for most filipinos. the foreign currency coming in when the overseas workers sends money to their family keeps a floor on our economy and will always keep our head above water.

filipinos and even palestinians love to live and work in america and even israel. all i hear are wonderful stories on the benevolence of people in israel. if you google this you will even find out about a filipina caregiver in israel named rose fontanes who became a singing sensation in israel. the grandmother of my scholar kate alvarez went to work in israel as a medical biller 14 years ago and she does not want to come home to the philippines anymore. which is good for me because kate is such a cute puppy and i enjoy taking care of her (https://ian-crystal.blogspot.com/2018/08/knowledge-bombs-on-marijuana-and-foster-care.html). the IDF and US military also came to our rescue during our country's most desperate time - typhoon yolanda.

meanwhile, i have many dear friends who were physically abused and raped by their employers in arab muslim countries. i googled to find out how common it is and found out the problem is actually quite rampant. turns out the intenet is littered with many horrifying stories of filipina workers abused in the middle east. yet  there is not a single account of filipino worker abuse in israel.

i don't understand because filipinos already bow down to the muslim arabs. maybe they are angry that we also bow down to the countries they hate like america. or maybe the abusers are just washington consensus infiltrators designed to ruin the reputation of america's cultural enemies.

don't get me wrong i'm not promoting passiveness or submissiveness. decent hardworking filipinos won't hesitate to kill an abusive cop, abusive politician or criminal. my classmates in high school are law abiding decent people but some of them joined a vigilante force to assassinate known drug lords and syndicates of our town (cebu). they had no choice unlike me who had the opportunity to leave the country and come to america. i feel it's the reason why the philippines is getting stronger as a society. but don't get me wrong again i have no desire to punish the employer of my dear friend in saudi arabia who beat her up because it was my friend's decision to take the risk in working abroad. besides now it can't happen again because she is back in the philippines. if i go scuba diving and i get bitten by a shark i won't blame the shark. i would blame myself for taking the risk. the palestinians should also blame themselves for attacking israel after the 1949 agreement. but if a corrupt cop just pulls me over and invents a violation just so that he can extort money from me, then i feel it's my duty to wack the cop no different than the thousands of americans who died fighting hitler. but if an alien specie with superman powers colonize america i would be a collaborator unless we have avenger super heroes. last time i checked palestinians don't have super heroes.

here's a video that demonstrates the prostitute nature of the filipino nature from the leftist point of view: The Genius of the Filipino Poor | Thomas Graham | TEDxADMU. a leftist might also say the "mutual aid" spirit of filipinos prove socialism might work. but to me it's more complicated than that. it's like saying i can run fast and shoot 3 pointers therefore i should be able to play in the NBA. this video also proves intellectuals are ignoring a very big factor or concept when it comes to how society works - pedigree. tom was treated specially not because he was white but because he had high pedigree. tom cannot comprehend why in the UK he would not welcome a stranger because he belongs to the top echolon of the pedigree hierarchy. i know the pedigree concept is very difficult to grasp for many people because it's not something you can measure or describe concretely. it's something you just feel. i can only explain it using examples. so for example, if halle berry or chomsky gets a flat tire and appears in tom's doorstep asking for help i'm sure tom will be mesmerized by their charisma or pedigree and tom would be very honored and happy to invite them and stay for the night. but if it's a low pedigree english bloke i'm sure tom will turn him away.
